Carla Stanmyre McDonald is a marketing expert with more than 25 years of experience advising some of the world’s most powerful brands. Named one of the 50 best public relations executives in the country by PR Week magazine, Carla began her marketing career in New York, serving in senior management roles at two of the world’s largest public relations firms: Hill + Knowlton Strategies, where she was the company's youngest Senior Managing Director, and GCI, where she was Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the North American Marketing Practice. Carla also served as Chief Marketing Officer of a Sevin-Rosen-backed technology startup that she helped to rebrand and reposition; the company was sold a year later. In addition to leading Dynabrand, Carla mentors the entrepreneurs in Capital Factory’s Accelerator program and speaks regularly on topics pertaining to brand reputation and management. Carla is the recipient of a number of honors, including the Girl Scouts of America’s Women of Distinction Award, the YWCA Leadership Award, the Austin Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award, the American Youthworks Community Leadership Award, and the inaugural Austin Creative Alliance Award. In addition to her work in marketing, Carla has extensive media experience, including working as a monthly magazine columnist, an on-air television host, and the founder and editor in chief of The Salonniere, an award-winning digital content company.
